Digital Natives verbringen im Durchschnitt mehrere Stunden am Tag online. Sie erleben dabei eine Flut an Informationen. Oft ist nicht ersichtlich, welche Informationen valide sind, wo sich Falschinformationen verstecken bzw. wer verlässliche Absender sind. Um Jugendliche zu befähigen, ihre Umwelt kritisch zu hinterfragen und Fake News erkennen zu können, eignet sich die Methode „P4C“ – „Philosophy for Children“. Sie ermutigt Kinder und Jugendliche zu kritischem Denken und bildet die methodische Grundlage im Projekt „YOU THink critical“.
In der Small Scale Partnerschaft lernen wir von unserem Projektpartner Anthropolis aus Ungarn die Grundlagen der Methode „P4C“. Gemeinsam stellen wir diese auf den „Online“-Prüfstand: Wie kann „P4C“ in den digitalen Raum übertragen werden? Wir nutzen unser Knowhow zu digitaler Jugendarbeit und begleiten das Projekt mit geeigneter (Online) Kommunikation. So lernen beide Projektpartner voneinander. Darüber hinaus ist unser Ziel, unsere Erkenntnisse Fachkräften der Jugendarbeit zugängig zu machen. Deshalb erstellen wir eine Guideline, die aufzeigt, wie „P4C“ auch im digitalen Raum Anwendung finden kann.
Das Projekt ist für die Dauer von 12 Monaten ausgelegt mit Projektstart am 1.3.2023.
Digital natives spend several hours online every day on average, exposing them to an overwhelming amount of information. It is often difficult to determine which sources are trustworthy, which information is reliable, and where misinformation or fake news may be hidden. To help young people critically evaluate the information they encounter and identify fake news, the P4C (Philosophy for Children) approach provides an effective methodology. It encourages children and young people to think critically and serves as the methodological foundation of the "YOU THink Critical" project.
As part of this Erasmus+ Small-Scale Partnership, we are learning the fundamentals of the P4C methodology from our project partner Anthropolis in Hungary. Together, we are exploring how P4C can be adapted for the digital environment. We contribute our expertise in digital youth work and support the project through appropriate online communication and dissemination activities. This mutual exchange allows both partners to learn from one another.
In addition, we aim to make our findings accessible to youth work professionals. To achieve this, we are developing a practical guideline that demonstrates how the P4C methodology can be successfully applied in digital settings.
The project has a duration of 12 months with the official start on 1 March 2023.
